Bjorn is a fully animated pod-puppet with a highly skilled performer inside operating his movements and facial animations. The polar bear has blinking eyes, a sniffing nose, an opening mouth and also live sounds,
Ursula, the polar bear herder is dressed Inuit-style in sumptuous fur costumes. The herder facilitates interaction between the audience and the polar bear and when needed can give a fascinating nature documentary style talk on polar bears their environment, their habits and habitat.
Bjorn is incredibly life-like, playful and interactive and audiences are encouraged to not just watch but to stroke and pat him.
To help set the scene Bjorn has a specially built inflatable ice sculpture environment for the perfromance.
The show has been performed at science events including Dublin's Young Scientist of the Year, Cambridge University Science Week and World Oceans Day at Galway Aquarium. Bjorn and Ursula have performed at numerous arts festivals, environmental events, corporate events and parties, some of which included the 2010 Venice Carnivale and the world premiere of the Golden Compass movie.
