From an early age Andy always knew the guitar was his future.
Although a largely self taught musician he studied with the renowned jazz guitarist Dave cliff who put him on the road to a professional playing career. Andy honed his guitar skills playing in bars, hotels, cruise ships including the QE2 and he enjoyed a nine year residency at the Pizza on the Park venue in Knightsbridge, London.
Andy has worked with many of Britain’s finest musicians. These include guitarist Martin Taylor, vocalist Lianne Carroll and saxophonist Alan Barnes. He has performed at many major venues worldwide and can boast performances at the Blue Note jazz club and BB Kings bar in Times Square, New York. At home Andy has played Ronnie Scotts Club, the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and the Rock Garden in London.
Andy has played with and alongside American guitar players and he was a founder member of the acclaimed progressive rock group “Three Friends” and more recently has opened shows for Randy Crawford, Courtney Pine and guitar giants Allan Holdsworth and John Jorgenson.
Andy is a first call guitarist for studio sessions and has recorded at Abbey Road studios. He has played guitar on numerous television commercials and children's interactive computer games and is “artist in residence” at Bedes school in East Sussex.
Andy has a number of groups which he leads in the live commercial and corporate environment playing familiar middle of the road tunes. The line ups include a Gipsy Jazz Duo and trio as well as a trio playing swing jazz and latin bossa novas as party or reception background jazz.
